Four-passenger Bob Sleigh

Abob sleigh has two sets of runners, both of which can turn
about a central pivot, but the rear runners have adjustable leather straps to limit the range of movement. This sleigh has the unusual feature of duplex cross springs fitted to both sets of runners.

A bob sleigh is less likely to overturn or slip sideways than a single-runner sleigh. Sleighs were often painted in bright colors with fancy striping and other decoration. Red plush was a popular fabric for sleigh cushions. The paintwork on this sleigh was done in the Farm workshop in the late 1960s.

The auction was held on April 27, 2002. At this time the Seabrook Coaching Stable was completely dispersed.
